Financial overview
Monies received, 2000–2017
The year-by-year breakdown behind the $11,175,850 total.
The $11,175,850 total breaks into yearly figures across the ten categories. The table below gives every category, every year, with each figure linked to its source. Two things to know while reading it:
- The 2006 row totals $234,333: the components ($132,000 + $50,000 + $52,333) sum to that figure, which reconciles with the grand total.
- The child-support column ($1,665,000) decomposes exactly: $250,000 = $25,000 × 10 months (2001, from the order’s July 2001 retroactive date); $300,000 = $25,000 × 12 (2002); $191,000 = ($25,000 × 5) + ($11,000 × 6), the 2003 transition year when the joint account ran dry; then $132,000 = $11,000 × 12 for each year 2004–2010. The monthly rates are documented ( 2001 order , 2006 order ); the month counts are reconstructed from the yearly totals. Note the column stops at 2010 even though the $11,000/month draws ran until 2016.

The Manhattan co-op
The co-op is the newest item on the list: a Manhattan apartment the court awarded to Mrs. Ort, which she then sold.
- The Seward Park stock certificate (#3556, 22.75 shares, Unit E504) was issued in Mrs. Ort’s name in September 2006.
- Per the closing letter of January 15, 2013 (Re: Ort vs. Ort, Docket No. FM-15-990-00N), the apartment at 415 Grand Street sold for $445,000 plus a $308.52 credit — $445,308.52 gross. After closing debits the adjusted net was $299,212.04 (the figure used in the overview table); after arbitration and renovation payments, Mrs. Ort’s net proceeds were $239,664.25.
The $600,000
In January 2000 Mrs. Ort wired $350,000 from her late mother-in-law’s Discount Bank account to an Israel account already holding $250,000, then gave the full $600,000 to her cousin R’ Ira Adler to disburse to “a yeshiva” (unnamed). The cataloged documents:
- Her handwritten authorization for the $350,000 wire, dated January 4, 2000.
- Her deposition excerpt confirming the $600,000 total and stating it was donated “to a yeshiva.”
